Materials & Construction
The figure is cut from 2 mm sheet steel, with steel rod used for the stem and supporting components. A ball-bearing pivot is fitted inside the feature head, allowing the weathervane to respond to changes in wind direction.
The North, South, East and West directional arms use a cross-style fixing to hold the components securely in position.
The steel is finished with a textured black exterior-grade powder coating, providing a durable and consistent appearance for outdoor use.
Caring for Your Weathervane
The exterior-grade powder coating helps protect the steel from outdoor conditions. Like any metal product installed outdoors, the weathervane should be inspected periodically for signs of wear or damage to the coating.
If the protective finish becomes chipped or worn, clean and prepare the affected area before applying a suitable exterior metal paint in accordance with the paint manufacturer’s instructions.
